FAQ

How many videos can I post?

The number of videos you upload and archive, regardless of the length of the video or the size of the file is unlimited.

Can I only stream my church services?

The type of video you stream is completely up to you. Once you are set up you may wish to stream a daily bible study, mid-week service or SS class.

Where are my videos viewed?

Your videos are viewed on your website. We will configure your website with a player that will allow live streaming and archiving of your content. Drive traffic to your site. Generate product orders at your site.

I am already streaming. What equipment do I need to switch to TBGstreaming?

All that is required is a feed from your video/audio source to a computer with Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 2.5 (a free download). A fully configured and customized computer can be purchased from TBGstreaming with cables and connectors.

How many people can watch my broadcast?

TBG Streaming gives you 100 Gb of streaming and/or archiving per month. As a general rule, 100 Gb will allow 100 people to view your service for twenty minutes per day. If you exceed the 100 Gb allowance your rate per additional Gb is reduced and you are charged on a per Gb usage.

How do I archive my videos?

When you start your stream you choose to archive, by clicking one button. The computer creates a file and saves it. Once streaming is complete, you fill out a short informational web page attaching your video file (easily found on your computer), your archiving is a click away. It really is that easy.

How much bandwidth do I need?

We recommend a minimum of 678 kbs upload for streaming. That number can usually be obtained with a DSL or cable modem, which can be provided by your local cable company. Check your present bandwidth speed.

Can I watch streaming from our church?

Yes, but we suggest that you have a dedicated Internet line for streaming. Any internet use from the same line can cause interference with the upload of the video and cause glitches in the signal and video stoppage.

How difficult is the set up?

Simple. When you receive the equipment, you will also receive an instructional DVD to show you how to connect your system for streaming. The steps are simple and easy to complete. The computer is pre-configured by TBG so once you have it connected, you start one program on the computer and you are streaming. You supply the Ethernet cable to the computer (set up at your camera) with bandwidth of at least 678 kbs (kilobits per second) upload speed. Download speed is not important for streaming, but you retain your present download speeds.

Will I own the equipment?

Yes, your equipment package is purchased and belongs to you completely.

What if I don’t have an audio source?

The Sony HD cameras have a microphone that can be used as your primary audio source. The quality of the microphone audio will not be as good as a dedicated line from an audio mixer, but will provide ample audio for streaming.

Can I use my own camera and/or computer?

Using your own equipment is fine. We recommend a dedicated computer to avoid conflicts that may interrupt streaming. The camera you use must have a firewire output and the camera must have a firewire input. If you are fully equipped for video you will need the computer with Adobe Flash Media Encoder 2.5 to stream live and to save your files for archiving. Our developers will set up your site and we will supply configuration instructions for your computer.

Can I add cameras to this system in the future?

A multi-camera video package requires much more than just adding a switcher and more cameras. If you are interested in an expanded package, please ask to speak to your representative and he/she can connect you with the person that will meet your needs.

We want a website but we don’t have one yet. Can we still use this service?

Absolutely. TBG’s web designers have a wide variety of services available from a basic webpage to a full design that will suit every organization’s budget and needs. Ask about our web design services when you call.
